Project Hope began in 2005 as an initiative to fill a desperate need among youth in North/Northeast Portland.
Our mission to help at-risk youths focuses on providing a comprehensive solution, emphasizing the skills needed to make positive, lifelong changes: educational support, occupational training in our jobs program, and life skills and mentoring.
We provide jobs for youth in our retail Electronic Store located at 4819 NE Fremont Street or through our Hope Houses building program. We also help youths in our program connect with outside employment opportunities.
In the five years since Project Hope’s founding, we’ve seen a number of organizational achievements:
- We have employed upwards of 40 youths in our in-house retail stores and placed 30 youths in jobs at businesses in and around Portland.
- We have helped over 30 youths achieve their GED’s and aided 40 students in returning to an education program.
